  1. Update: Concertina is tentatively sold.
  2. Thanks, Bruce. I amended the link.
  3. The concertina is no longer available. (Tentatively sold).
  4. I have listed a Frank Edgley Ab/Eb 30 button concertina (Professional Model). Bird's Eye Maple frame. Manufactured in 2010 serial number #308. It is in mint condition. Here is the listing: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/251223485376?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 Here is a sound clip: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=AFeNStFz0G4 I prefer selling off ebay and if a member of this forum buys this concertina then I will make a donation to C.net c/o Paul Schwartz.
  5. Do you have details as to age, identifying information, repair history etc? Paul...here is a link that will describe the concertina: http://www.horniman.info/DKNSARC/SD04/PAGES/D4P1320S.HTM The Model 4.....30 button Wheatsone was made in July 23, 1965. It is in A=440 tuning. The metal reeds do not show excessive filing.
  6. Hello Griffinga....thank you for the offer but I do not play the violin nor know anyone who does. Best of luck.
  7. Ben, Judging by the photo, you should omit the "Jedcertina" bit! As far as I know, "Jedcertina" applies only to the 20-key piano-arrangement concertinas, and yours definitely looks like a 30-k Anglo. I suppose the Jedcertina (like the similar Rust system, which however has more buttons) is yet another variety of Duet. Cheers, John E. Dallas (No relation! The only thing I have in common with that John E. Dallas is the 5-string banjo. He made them - quite good ones, I believe; I play them ...) Hello John.....I agree with you...it is better to view it as a Crabb/Dallas concertina.....now if Geoff Crabb can only make me a a new Crabb anglo....I will call it....Ben's Crabb anglo.
  8. I have listed a Wheatstone C/G 30 button concertina on ebay. It is in excellent playing condition. It has dovetailed reedpans. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130802063985 I prefer selling off ebay. If a member of this forum buy this concertina from me then I will make a suitable donation to C.net. c/o Paul Schwartz
  9. Thank you Geoff!! I guess I will then call it a "Crabb...re-badged Dallas...Jedcertina". This particular concertina has a great sound.
  10. There is just a faint inscription of "DallaS" Made in England.....where the badge or label should be....
  11. I wonder if anyone can help me identify an anglo concertina I am selling for a friend. The 30 button anglo has the name: "DallaS" ...."Made in england" on both sides of the metal ends..where one would expect the manufacturer's name and serial number. Was "Dallas" concertinas rebranded Crabb anglo's from the 1933 to 1953 period? I believe there was a certain J.E. Dallas who bought concertinas from the Crabb family between 1925 and 1931. The fretwork is crude similar to the cheap Crabb anglo's of the 1930's to early 1950"s. The action is rivited and the reeds are set in brass frames.....in a parrallell manner..rather than the Wheastsone dovetailed way. I wonder if Geoff Crabb would have any information??? Thanks, Ben
  12. Congratulations with your Edgley! I have an Edgley myself (#308) and it is a well built concertina. Frank Edgley can build concertinas ina any key or pitch you want it. He is also now building concertinas with Vintage concertina reeds. The concertina responds very well and it plays fast.

Welcome to this forum. I have sent you a PM with contact information.
  14. Hello David...it is a beautiful concertina. Let me guess...Colin Dipper? Wim Wakker or Geuns???? Wally Carroll??? What price do these concertinas go for?
  15. The concertina is still available. PM if intersted.
  16. Here are video clips I posted a few years ago of 1950/1960's Wheatstsone concertina..... the first one is of Manie Erasmus playing on a late 1960's 40 button Wheatstone C/G http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wcmkm5MevI the second clip is of Koot Brits playing on my 40 button Wheatstone C/G: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOYN0N_9TCI Many of the 1950's and 1960's 40 button concertinas that I have come across play very well. I think that each concertina should be evaluated on a box by box case. I do prefer brass shoes or frames on my personal concertinas rather than the alluminum frames that were common in that era. I do own a 1926 Linota as well as a 1984 Steve Dickinson Wheatstone C/G 40 button and both have superior sound (in my own humble opinion).
  17. I have a 40 button Wheaststone C/G available...for sale. PM me if intersted. I prefer selling off ebay. If a member of this forum buys this concertina then I will make the appropriate donation to C.net. PM me of interested.
  18. Concertina is tentatively sold. Thanks
  19. Is this concertina an anglo, English or duet concertina?
  20. HEllo Frank....do you have any photos of your Heritage Model concertina??? I am unable to make it for NESI and I am sure that there may be others who are in the same boat as me.
  21. I have listed a Wheatstone C/G 36 button anglo concertina for sale. PM me if interested.
  22. Hallo Mark, This concertina was made after WW2 when the Wheatstone company started to use crimped reeds and screwed the reed frames to the action board. The reeds are set in alluminium frames. The concertina has a sweet sound.
  23. The Wheatstone C/G 30 button concertina listed on Ebay is now sold. I do have another one available ... for sale...
