does the whole range of concertina leather bits..... Gerry

I recently bought a few trial pieces from here......
Thank you for your enquiry. We manufacture the leather bindings mentioned but in a softee hide leather not goatskin.
If you would like to let me know the sizes required I can advise the cost. We either split thin at .2mm across the whole width or centre split to .6/.7mm with both edges bevelled.
Please send your address and I can send samples.
I look forward to your reply.
Kind Regards
Lynda

I recently purchased Jason O'Rourke's excellent CD " The Northern Concertina". I am completely blown away by the Mazurka "L'Aguilette". Does anyone have the music or ABC they can share..... It would make this "old man" very happy!

a "G" version is available here: (5th version of the collection) https://thesession.org/tunes/18

Get Dave Elliot's Concertina Maintenance manual as a starter!

I'm certainly NOT a teacher or instructor , just an enthusiastic anglo learner like yourself (using ABC), but I'm in Cumbernauld so if you fancy meeting up to see if we can learn a few tunes from each other... ?

This is exactly what happened to a friend of mine on his way to a concertina gathering, only that he didn‘t use a hard case but was carrying his 30b CG Linota (some say, it‘s an even better instrument) in a rucksack on which he then fell.
He was just so fortunate that only the bellows was destroyed. He had a good (he says: even better) replacement made, but the gathering was spoiled for him.
With this accident (and @Jim Bessers plumbing nightmares) in mind I ordered and fitted Pelican cases for my dear Wheatstone team.
Best wishes - ?
Hi Wolf what size/model of Pelican Case did you order??

Too right Peter I know its a great CD but that has to be a world record!!!
I'll happily buy a second hand copy if that's all that is available..... anyone want to part with their copy?

Hi, I'm trying to track down a UK outlet for two Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh CDs, namely "The Nervous Man"(2002) & "Inside Out" (2008)
Any clues anyone??

I used to own a PA company. The Shure 57 is a "go to" general purpose mic for acoustic instruments usually in conjunction with a DI on the instrument for live PA reinforcement. If you are recording it might be better to consider a condenser mic designed specifically for recording/studio as these have become more affordable of late. https://www.musicmatter.co.uk/news/best-studio-microphones-under-150
George Jones or Crabb?
in Concertina History
Posted
Just an observation... I have two George Jones concertinas and a couple of Lachenals and have just discovered, (from Andrew Norman) that George Jones "accidental/incidental" (outer) rows had/have a slightly different layout to the standard Lachenal or Jeffries layout ie: Left hand: Jones (and early Lachenals) used E push/G# pull on the lowest button, later everyone went to E/F as the lowest button
Right Hand: Jones used D#/C#push for 1A, G/G#push, Bb/c# push, the f/a (like the highest Lachenal button) then a high d#/and very high c on the push (Credit to Andrew Norman for this info as he is currently restoring my third George Jones (although keep an eye out as I will be selling at least one of them shortly to pay for the current restoration :) )
So a reflection on the button pattern might shed some light on whether it is a Jones?
