Dan Stener
Hello, I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to find a chart or a midi that can be converted into a chart for the tune "Dancing At Lughnasa." I am referring specifically to the song in the movie to which the sisters are dancing in front of their cottage. I seem to recall that this is a variation of a "standard" - the name of which I have also forgotten. I will appreciate any and all assistance/referrals. Henk van Aalten
Dan, I did some searching and found this web-page, indicating that it was composed for the film by Bill Whelan. The title track, "Dancing at Lughnasa" is composed for traditional ensemble On the other hand I found in JC's ABC tunefunder a traditional titled "Lughnasad Dance" Maybe you can find more relevant material in this Google result. Dan Stener
Hello Henk, Thanks for your reply and suggestions. Regrettably, nothing produced the tune that I want. The tune on the ABC search site is something quite different. Your mention of Bill Whelan, however, planted an idea and I have submitted a request for a chart via his web site. Thanks for prompting that action. Be Well, Dan Edited June 14, 2004 by Dan Stener
