bellowbelle
When I went to NESI last year, it was raining, and I didn't get a decent chance to walk around and notice where the camping area was (I stayed in the lodge area). This year, I intend to camp -- doubt I'll bring a tent, just use my car -- and I'm wondering if it's realistically okay to drive right to the camping spot, or if it's better to park up in the main area and then trudge down on foot. Because, of course, if I can't park at my site, I'll have to bother with a tent! It seems to me that the sites are most likely accessible quite easily, since I didn't notice a whole pile of vehicles parked up in the lodge area, last time. BruceB
Wendy, Hang a left at the main lodge. It's a big grassy field, no problem to just camp in your car. I'm not sure if I'll be there this year. I just cancelled my room but I might make it up for the day Saturday. bruce boysen
bellowbelle
Thanks, Bruce. Yeah, I'm not sure yet, either, if I'll get there on Friday, or wait until early Saturday. And, Sunday depends on things at the time. See you there, maybe!
Richard Morse
The camping area is to the left through the line of trees. Just after that you come to large fields on both sides of the road that you can tent in though most people who use that area usually are car/truck/motorhome type campers. A bit further on are tennis courts and swimming pool and the forested area where many of the tent campers seem to set up. One of the nice things about this are is that this is where the "facilities" building (bathrooms/showers) is. Also around this area is where the cabins are sprinkled. I usually camp out in my car too. Just drive around to a congenial spot, fold down the back seat and kick around the blankets -- DONE! Easy!
