Queen Lud
A friend of mine has a 26 button Anglo concertina. The make insignia has been worn away and all that is left is a crown surmounting a sun (?) and something like a scroll underneath and the first world "THE". Any ideas what make that could be? lesfix
If it is a very old concertina, it could well be an old Salvation Army instrument. Their crest is a crown on a sun, generally with a scroll underneath saying "The Salvation Army". If you google "Salvation Army Crest" there are several examples of what it looks like, though an older one may not look quite so sophisticated. Just a thought, it may be helpful. lesfix
Stephen Chambers
And if it is a Salvation Army 26-key Anglo (they had lots of them!), then it's probably in Ab/Eb tuning and made by George Jones...
Queen Lud
Ah, that sounds likely. Thanks both of you for solving that mystery. QL
