Rhomylly Posted January 21, 2004 Share Posted January 21, 2004 I've been meaning to mention that I won a pair of tickets for The Chieftan's concert here in town last Saturday! ( If I can't live in a decent-size city, I'm grateful that college towns get really good stuff coming through). I hadn't seen them since becoming a fledgling Irish musician, and it completely deepened the experience. Of course they were brilliant, as always. The uillean pipes continue to baffle and amaze me. And...the founder, Paddy Moloney, actually picked up a BA at one point. It'd been sitting by his chair the whole time, and I was like, "pick it up, pick the BA UP! No, put the pipes down and pick it up!" I shall add, even though it's probably obvious, that once he picked it up he played the $% out of it!
