Guest Old Leaky Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Help! I'm looking for the music for a double-jig "The Gold Ring" (may be known as "The Kilfenora Gold Ring"?). It appears on the "Anglo International" compilation, played by Kate MacNamara. To my primitive ears, it is in D-maj in 4 parts with each repeated. I believe it to be the same tune played by Noel Hill on "The Irish Concertina". My searches of the usual suspects on the web invariably turn up a 6 part jig in G-maj which may or not be related.
Laitch Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Could be this one. http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/1351
Guest Old Leaky Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 (edited) Duh! And I have tried the Session site several times. I must have mucked up my search criteria at some level. Thank you. Now that I can see more clearly what I was looking for, I need have looked no further than these very pages! http://www.concertina.net/tunes_detail.html?rec_id=10 Edited April 1, 2006 by Old Leaky
geoffwright Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 A damn good tune to encourage use of the pinkey for the low notes. Use the 4th finger for the A, then pinkie, 4th, 3rd for the DFA
