geoffwright
Anyone fancying going to Noel Hill in March?. I really want to go but can't decide whether to travel on the Sunday afternoon - it would probably involve taxi from Shannon to Ballyvaughan - no buses? Chris Allert
Anyone fancying going to Noel Hill in March?. I really want to go but can't decide whether to travel on the Sunday afternoon - it would probably involve taxi from Shannon to Ballyvaughan - no buses? according to the ballyvaughan tourist info page ( http://www.ballyvaughanireland.com/services-page.html ) the galway-doolin bus is the one to catch. there are busses from shannon to ennis all day every day. here are the bus schedules for clare: http://www.buseireann.ie/site/your_journey/clare_tipp.asp here's the galway-doolin schedule: http://www.buseireann.ie/site/your_journey...s/local/423.pdf but it dosn't run late enough on sunday. your best bet probably to take the cork-galway bus to kilkolgan and then take a taxi from there. here is the bus #51 schedule: http://www.buseireann.ie/site/your_journey...way/51juncg.pdf
Guest Peter Laban
It's a long run from Shannon to Ballyfoghorn to take a taxi. You'll get a bus to Ennis and will probably get connections to either Lisdoonvarna or Kinvarra or a place like that to shorten the journey and take a taxi from there. That would be a more sensible thing. Or get a cheap rental, you'd want wheels in Ireland.
Bruce McCaskey
It's not likely that I'll attend this year, but I went to Noel's Ballyvaughan classes the last two years and quite enjoyed the experience. Last year one fellow in the group took a taxi from Shannon to Ballyvaughan; I don't recall the rate for certain but it seems to me that he reported the one-way trip cost him something between 100 and 130 Euro. If you have an interest in attending Noel's Ireland class this year (and haven't already done so) I suggest you contact Linda through the related links on Noel's website. If you coordinate your arrival with the rest of the class group you may be able to save some money and inconvenience on the final leg of the trip. Last year a private coach was arranged from Shannon to Ballyvaughan and the cost per person was something like 10 or 20 Euro. Even if you're going to arrive on a date different from the bulk of the group, it's still possible that you could meet up with someone else traveling the same day and share expenses. There were a few people last year that skipped the early activities and flew in the day before classes actually started. Bruce
geoffwright
Many thanks for the info - it eventually transpired I can get a lift the previous week and take in Corofin-Fest as well. I am in trouble at home for going on my own, though!!!
