I have alloted around 1000-1200 to spend, only thing in that range I've seen is McNeela Swan. You could take a look at concertina.co.uk and see what's in your range — most will be more expensive, but maybe not all? Vintage instruments are quirky and will have their flaws, especially affordable ones, but that site is at least honest about what the flaws are and why things are priced the way they are. Another option in that price range is Stagi. I don't think most people here would recommend them — they've had a bad reputation for a while, and some people say their quality has improved under new ownership, but most people still seem to be skeptical.
