Stephen Chambers
yeah i love how small concertinas are I just wanted one that was between 5-6 inches across the flats. My Rochelle is quite large. As people have been saying, 6 1/4" is the normal size for a concertina made in England (whilst a Rochelle is 7 1/4", and altogether much bulkier). If you want a 6" one you'll have to buy a Jeffries or an old Crabb, but they're well outside your budget, as would be a semi-miniature Wheatstone. There's a premium to be paid on anything miniature, or semi-miniature, and they're rare - so why not just get a "regular" size one, at least for now? (You'll get more bang for your buck that way.) ... I dont care what brand it is, as long as it uses that weatstone system however, it may not even matter on a 20 button! ... It doesn't, 20-key Anglos are usually all the same, though old-style German ones can be different when it comes to the press note on the bottom of the G row, which can be an "oom-pah" low G instead of the normal Anglo low B.
