Bruce McCaskey
Looking forward to the upcoming Roche Harbor Irish Music Week (March 2 - 8). It's held in the US on a ferry-accessible island off the coast of Washington State. I've been told that over 70 people are expected to participate this year. No formal structured activities at this event, but a lot of informal sessions, daily tune-swaps and some privately-arranged instruction between attendees. If you love Irish music, it's a great event held in a resort setting. Because of the time of year, attendee's essentially have the whole resort area to themselves. The lodging price is extremely attractive, a very comfortable room can be had in a hotel or condominium setting for just of fraction of the mid-summer tourist season prices. I can't say just how many concertina people will be there this year, but I know of five that will be attending and expect there will be a few more. There's a website for those that don't know of the event: http://www.rocheharborirish.com
