The last recorded 40 button Wheaststone anglo made..was 59498 and yours is #59499...then assume that both were made or registered on the same date because concertinas were made in batches (groups). Approximately 81 anglo concertinas were made in the last year of operation by the Wheatstone Company...which at this time functioned under the ownership and leadership of the Boosey and Hawkes muscial company. Jan....the best person to write to may be Steve Dickinson. His email address is: concertinas@wheatstone.co.uk Steve may have some information on the approximate date of manufacture. Most of us rely on the Wheatstone Ledgers as well as on people who actually knew the last employees of the Wheatstone company. Intruments made in the 1970's were not the best examples of Wheatstsone concertinas made. The 40 button concertinas (Model 7A) received more attention and care than the 30 button (3 row) concertinas made in the same year.
