John Adey
I went to hear Blyde Lasses at Branscombe, Devon, a couple of nights ago and if you get the chance I urge you to do likewise. They're a Shetland duo, fiddle and English concertina. Claire, the fiddle player, was taught by the great Tom Anderson, and Frances, the concertina player is self-taught. Frances is both an excellent accompanist and soloist. She plays a lovely Aeola tenor treble - with no less than ten fold bellows - and her playing reminds me quite a bit of Rob Harbron's. They've two dates left of their short South West tour: http://www.concertina.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=14006 Catch them if you can.
