  1. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to purchase a hard concertina case? I am in the States, and looking for something that's cheap and serviceable, not fancy. I recently purchased a used Stagi tenor, and I'm enjoying it, but it came on its lonesome. It's 7" across the flats, and 7" compressed, but the thumb straps appear to have a bit of rigid metal in the (is this normal, it's my first English?) that sticks about an additional 1.25" on either side. So I need something about 7" x 7.75" x 9.5" in total. This seems to be larger than even the largest cases I see online at McNeela, Concertina Connection, or Hobgoblin, but that's odd to me since the Stagi tenor is smaller than my CC Elise, which I took to be a common and popular model. And even then, most of these places have their hard cases out of stock. Where do y'all purchase your cases?
  2. Hello everybody, I own a concertina of an unknown manufacturer (to me at least) and I am trying to find a hardcase for it. My concertina has the dimensions of HxBxD of 18,5cm x 22,5 cm x 22 cm (see attached rough sketch). But it seems all of the cases I can find are way too small. I was wondering: Do I measure my concertina in the right way?
  3. Yesterday, I was looking at gig bags for the concertina. My hard case is a good one, but boxy and I was hoping to find an easier-to-carry alternative. Instead, I found an old post from John Dipper in which he listed various concertinas that came to him in need of repair because they were dropped whilst in gig bags. That night, walking to a session, I slipped on the ice and fell hard---right onto my hard case. The case sustained a bit of damage in that the vinyl was scratched off the wood. My shoulders, elbow, and wrist were a bit strained. My Morse Ceili? Totally fine. So until they invent an air-bag gig bag, I'll be keeping my concertina in its hard case. Christine
