I have recently purchased this Lachenal with the plan to restore it. It appears to be in very fine condition - except for the bellows. Whoever owned this forced the concertina into the case without lining up the thumb strap knobs. As a result, it was wedged pretty tightly in the case. I suspect that someone reached past the bellows to try to pull it out and pressed their finger through the bellows. I am thinking that I can repair them. Am I kidding myself? Kevin

I suppose that if £450 would be the top-end for a overhauled, tuned steel reed instrument, it would be best to buy from a reputable dealer as Greg suggests. Thank you Malcolm! Kevin

Greg, thank you for your reply! I am in fact interested in learning repair and reconditioning. However, if the instrument is likely to need the repairs you mention, it seems quite over priced!
