  1. Thanks for all the replies so far. I'm at present bidding for a 20 button Stagi on e bay (so nobody else bid please). Has anyone any knowledge on if Thomann concertinas are rebadged Stagis?
  2. Hi all. I've been told by a squeezebox restorer with no connection to the company that Stagi/ Brunner plastic ended 20 button concertinas are quite good for the money( about £100). I know all the pros , and cons of cheap concertinas but just want something to try as a taster instrument. If I enjoy it I'll then look at a Rochelle. Has anybody tried these Stagis , the model number is PL-42. Also Thomann seem to do their own badge engineered model. Again , anyone tried one. I know the disadvantages of cheap instruments as I try to dissaude friends from buying cheap guitars, but in this case the price of an entry level instrument is higher than that of a beginners guitar. Help me please or I might end up with a Scarlatti,
  3. Hi all, I'm thinking of buying my first concertina or possibly melodeon in the next month or so. My budget for doing this is about £250 which I know means I have to be a bit careful. I was thinking that if I went for a concertina it would mean a used Stagi/Honer/Gremlin, preferably one which has been through a restorer as a trade up and has been "sorted". While looking on the web however I found Harry Geuns in Belgium http://www.bandoneon-maker.com/harrygeuns.htm the price of a new Rochelle from here is less than a new Stagi, this is GOOD news. Does anyone know of other similar ( English language) websites in the EEC where I can look into the price of new or second hand Anglos. Come on folks, stop me buying a Melodeon. Bugs.
