  2. Yes, I think so too. Also it's really a pleasure to play; everything feels right about it from the start. I have a Lachenal that doesn't affect the tinnitus - so will have to stick with that for now, apparently older reeds disturb my ear less. If anyone from Ireland were to be interested, I'd be happy to drive half way - to try or buy. I don't mean in the middle of the sea, but maybe on the West coast somewhere. Would be happy to post a copy of my receipt - if anyone would like to see it, Thanks for the comment - on behalf of the Wakkers at least.
  3. For sale - as new – no. 13150 Wakker W-A4 Eire model in CG With C drone – great for Irish music. Jeffries layout. Very easy and fast to play – reeds make a lovely rich sound – top condition. A terrific instrument, made to a very high standard. 4. Thanks for the helpful advice.
  5. Thanks for that, in that case, it's the threaded plates that are damaged, two on one side. The bolts aren't stripped. I guess it would've been better the other way around.
  6. I've got two stripped end bolt nuts on a Lachenal, I think I stripped one of them and that was being careful. I'm guessing they're all a bit suspect, would the best idea be to send it to a repairer? It seems quite an involved task and the most complicated job I've done so far is new action springs, advice would be welcome - please.
  7. Edgely anglo baritone (octave lower but still CG). Bought new in Sept. 2009. 30 keys, Lachenal note system. It’s just like new, concert pitch etc. Never been opened up; there’s been no need, all in perfect order. It’s been played quite regularly over these 2 years. I had it imported and have attached the sales sheet to show the cost, it’s the more expensive professional model and with the custom made Fallon case cost almost 3000 Canadian dollars – so heading towards £2000 is what it cost me. But it is a lovely instrument and it’s quick as Edgelys apparently are. Currently listed on ebay uk. My email address is mail@macintyre-art.com
  8. What can I say to that? I'll try not to dwell on your reply.
  9. What about getting one of different pitch? They made baritone Abglos, didn't they? thanks for the suggestion.
  10. hello David, thanks for that, but I don't think it was blocked. I did go to the doctor, he said give up the concertina. I think I'll probably go electric/midi. Ian.
  11. I used to play a lachenal 36key rosewood anglo, it was my 3rd concertina, a lovely instrument. Sadly I had to give it up and sell it because it was causing a buzzing in my right ear which became more or less constant. I miss playing that thing. Has anybody out there had a similar difficulty and found a way around it? I had an overhaul done by Wheatstone concertinas and they made such a good job of the harmonics that my ear problem got even worse - good news for the guy I sold it to. thanks.
