  1. Yes, but maybe your exercise technology wasn't optimal. Maybe after some months of concertina playing you would want to try the recorder anew. If your typing gets better by playing concertina, maybe your recorder playing will improve too. But concertina is off course more interesting than the recorder. Sebastian and a recorder gives me and everyone else listening a headache a concertina well its buttons I'm sure all kids could handle that...they take to a games console which is just buttons really fine. And it sounds nicer than a recorder.
  2. Its terrible isnt it? Makes my concertina playing look fabulouse in comparison.
  3. not really...I don't know many or whether they are easy or hard so I just go with what I get given or suggested. I'd like to be able to play a Madness song...like baggy trousers.
  4. Comming along nicely... haveing fun? fjb yeah....although I still haven't got it quite as perfect as I want...gotta have my nails cut again they keep sliding down the sides of the buttons and getting stuck. lol! Slows me down. Hi LDT You're never too late Lilly of Laguna - progress Thanks Leo Ah yes that's my 'work in progress' still got to add the chording to it. I have a goal.... I want to be able to play 10 songs resonably by the end of the year.
  5. In which case this is me playing the bass guitar with my brother on lead guitar and my friends dad on rythm guitar. http://www.soundlantern.com/UpdatedSoundPa...6&Path=null I'd only picked up the instrument about 3 hours before this was recorded and me attempting the recorder http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v28/imbo...t=practice1.flv
  6. Doors being slammed usually accompanies my playing...but I wouldn't say well.
  7. Sounds cool. An electric concertina (like an electric guitar) then? That's why I suggested one for playing the Dr Who theme. You didn't ask ME what one was. I shall go off in a huff now... Ah...I did mean to ask that...but got distracted by other threads....and rather than asking the same question twice asked it in the instrument thread.
  8. I think I uploaded this one just bit to late to be included http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SKMmvJfmA9E

  10. Behave 2 weeks is the shortest and 5years the longest its taken for me to be made a moderator on a forum. I have a skill for telling people what to do. Midi? Sheesh...I was enjoying the suberted thread.. fjb Detention for you.
  11. I wonder if he would have counted the teeth if they had been discussing how many a lion had lol
  12. Well I'm sure with everyone's help it would take less time. Anything I could help with?
  13. We have in fact never even met before.... (now I'm going off topic *slaps wrist*)
  14. I love to play every musical instrument I can lay hands on. At the moment I tend to prefer jug and kazoo. Jug? As in the thing you put beverages in? How do you play that? After the contents of said jug are consumed, one purses one's lips and blows across the top and promptly passes out! Do you really not know LDT? You get a nice resonant gallon cider flagon or similar with a smallish neck, but not TOO small and blow 'in tune' raspberries into it to provide a bass line. The jug amplifies the farted-bass effect. It has Hillbilly connotations (empty moonshine jugs presumably?). And hence 'Jug band'. Only spoons compete as an instrument that allows you to have some fun when you didn't bring your 'real instrument' and want to join in with ad hoc music situations...you go scavenging in the host's kitchen and you're ready to join in the fun. I really didn't know. Is that like skiffle making instruments from what's around?
  15. potential bowls posibilties?

  17. link to thread here.....(wishes she had mod powers for this forum :powerhungryemote:) http://www.concertina.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=8307
  18. I've made you a nice new thread for posting the discussion on.
  19. so here's the place for the discussion...I think going off on tangents is one of the reasons it makes find things in a search so hard....as an experienced moderator and admin on other forums I'm only trying to help. I practice and 1hour a day on weekdays 4 hours on a saturday and 2-3 on a sunday.
  20. I'm going to be schoolteacher here: You should all know better to keep on topic....I don't want this turning into another 'argument' thread. Where you alternate discussion subverts the original question. Start a new thread for that new topic. Its simple forum ettiquette. I used the word 'talent' to mean 'Skill' OK...so stop fighting and get back to the question in hand. And for those keeping on topic well done
  21. would multi 'skilled' have been a more acceptable term?
  22. In my case I howl....at the moon
  23. Well I know doesn't matter how hard I worked...I could never sing....haven't got that talent. I can't hold a note to save my life....my scores on 'singstar' on the ps2 can testify to that.
  24. do you think the Doctor Who theme could be played on the anglo concertina?
