  1. This wheatstone has 48 bone keys, wooden ends and is all black. It has 6 fold leather bellows and white leather baffles and steel reeds. It is in philharmonic pitch and will therefore need tuning and servicing. There is a number which reads either 19765 or 19755 - circa 1880 to 1890. The other label reads: Salvationist publishing supplies ltd, musical instrument department 105 - 121 Judd St, Kingscross,WC1. Comes with a nice black wooden box. The asking price is £650. I am having problems attaching photos at the moment but I will try later.
  2. Thanks for that but when I said a deep tone, I did mean tone and not pitch. The pitch is not lower. The reeds are definitely steel and not brass. Susannah
  3. This is a 48 nickel key wheatsone with rosewood ends. 5 fold black leather bellows and in concert pitch. Circa 1890. It has a really lovely deep, mellow tone. Comes with a tidy brown leather case. Asking price is £1100.
  4. Right, here are his other concertinas! This one is a professional 8 sided wheatstone aeola with 6 fold black leather bellows. It is in concert pitch and Circa 1920. It was rebuilt by H.Crabb & Son circa 1950 and the end frets were replaced with leight-weight alloy. It was serviced in 1986 by C & R Dipper. I would say it has a nice resonant and bright tone and quite a bit of volume to it. More photos can be posted if required. Asking price is £1400. I'd be interested to know what you all think of this one.
  5. Back again. I have decided to sell on the rest of Dad's concertinas. I'm not sure about his favourite instrument anymore. I might keep it and learn myself (oh that I had the time! My fiddle would rust if it were made of metal -well maybe not quite true!) Anyway, can anyone tell me what I am supposed to do if I decide not to sell the metal ended wheatstone? Do I have to remove the add? The rest are definitely for sale and will post up as soon as I can. Susannah.
  6. I am in Fife, Scotland. I am afraid I don't have any Anglos, Dippers or Jeffries and I may well keep a couple of the others but still deciding which ones. Sorry can't focus on more than one concertina at a time! Regards to all, Susannah
