  1. This topic does slightly tie in to a previous one, submitted by GAS, titled "English, Anglo or Duet?" Please respond anyway. I am a trained fiddle and classical player, I have loads of irish/scottish/British Isles Fiddle music; I'm also a classically trained pianist, and (strangely enough) a funk electric bassist for the past four years. Odd, yes. My question is this: I'm wanting to get my hands on another instrument. The one I chose, after seeing it on an episode of Mythbusters (one of the cameramen had one...and played a nice jig for the hosts. *shrugs*), and in Pirates of the Carribean II, and after looking it up online, was the Concertina. (big surprise, I'm here, right?) Ok, so that was the prelude to the question. Well, here's more. I've read that Anglo are the most commonly used for the "music of Ireland", which is where I have my loyalty, greatly. But, after hearing recordings of both the English and the Anglo (I couldn't find any specifically labled "duet" recordings), I like the sound of the English best. We're getting there, hold on. The main point of this, I have limited money ($2-300 US), and I've been checking out eBay for the past 2 weeks or so, just looking at prices, and have actually considered buying some that I see. Am I committing a cardinal sin? Someone, save my soul! Q.1) English, or Duet, when it comes to playing fiddle music/ stereotypical irish music Q.2) Anyone have recordings of duets? Q.3) Dealers, anyone? *sighs*
