  1. What a great resource this forum is! I've read through a lot of these threads. I am new to the concertina world. Have spent a couple years playing around with the idea of learning how to play and am taking the plunge. I found this site in the nick of time as I almost put a bid on the Chinese made ones on ebay before I found this forum. I've decided to go with a 30 button Anglo to learn on. I would love to spend thousands of dollars but can not justify it. I am able to spend $300-500. I know, I know it's not much but I'm just starting and not sure if I'll even stick with it. I found a Stagi at this link http://www.jimlaabs.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=147 I've read somewhere here that the Stagi actions can be limited. Opinions on the one I've found? Better options within price range? Thanks.
  2. Wonderful music. Humans are amazingly adaptable.
  3. I'd like to be versatile. I guess not so much into the waltz and polka style but I love the Irish jigs and dance tunes but would also like to learn to play cajun and even some Beatles or Frank Sinatra tunes.
  4. Thanks all! That's encouraging news and I'm off to find one to learn on. I'm an absolute green horn at this obviously so am lucky to have found this forum to help me along the way. I would love to buy top of the line but since I'm just learning, I'm going to start off with a less expensive (under $100) instrument. I'm looking at a 20 button, 40 reed Anglo C/G on ebay. I'll read through the forum a little further too but can anyone recommend a good book/video for the very beginner?
  5. Yeah, you read it right, ol' 9 fingers here. I would love to learn how to play but I don't know if I can. I had a run in with a wood splitter 16 years ago and lost the middle finger on my left hand. Am I a lost cause? Is it even possible for me to play even basics?
