  1. "VINTAGE CONCERTINA. ROSEWOOD. "THE VICEROY" STEEL REEDS So...what is it? " Viceroy made concertina's and melodeons for export in Saxony (Germany) around 1920. My first 30 button concertina was a Viceroy. They have wooden levers, the reeds are mounted on zinc plates like in a bandonion and they mostly left the factory badly in need of tuning. If you see one, there is a big chance that it is not in C/G (mine is E/B). There is no connection to Lachenal, it is a cheap imitation. The action is not that good. It does not have the quality and the sound of a Lachenal. Then again, to me it was a nice cheap concertina to start with for a couple of years (after having it tuned).
  2. > I think they got my email address from my reply to the jefferies scam, which in retrospect was foolish. I made a bid on the same D/G concertina and I had (probably the same) two lachenal scam spams. I did not react earlier to any jeffries scam. I think that someone is just checking the Ebay bid history and somehow they have a way to retrieve my email address in ebay's database(?) I am just wondering: how could they ever have gotten my email address another way? perhaps my nick is connected to my email address somewhere out on the internet? I checked that and it is not... I tried to proceed to get to know more about how this "seller" works, so I asked for name address, phone number and ebay nick name. Then the "seller" asked for many personal details. He also suggested that I would receive the package over TNT, pay over western union transaction and then (eventually) send it back and money would be refunded when it is not what I expect. The funny thing is that I expect that it is not the lachenal G/D concertina on ebay, so, I would'nt even have the right to claim a refund...
  3. Here is a nice crane duet on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Lachenal-Crane-Triumph...1QQcmdZViewItem Every coin has a flip side and so has any key layout system. Maccann duet has some weird fingerings if you want to play (for example) a complete minor scale in C, especially the Es is in a strange position. Often the low D is missing on a 6.5 inch mccann, and I would like to have that for the music I play. Crane duets are based on a C major scale but more other scales can be played easy (compared to the maccann). What you may want could be related to the kind of music you wanna play.
