buikligger
Hello Tina lovers, keep an eye on the Bloom of Youth program of august 4th. Kieran Hanrahan is going to have a talk with Sligo Concertina player Mairead Hurley. She's an All Ireland champion and, at present, is doing a PHD in Astronomy at DCU. Mairead, on a Jeffreys, was, besides Jack Talty, the tutor at Tubbercurry Summmer School. I had the pleasure to jam with her at the Cobblestone (Dublin) the weekend before the School started. At O'Donahue's (Dublin) I met Colin-Dipper-Anglo Player Paul with the unpronouncable Polish name ending on -witz, and with a gold plated banjo. Jack Talty was outstandingly good. But with the group Cruinniu he only plays the piano, and the Anglo tina is played by a girl. In Brennans pub in Tubbercurry i saw a 6 year old boy playing Anglo lying on his left side. I'm glad to join in so much beauty from such talented people! Cee You Dirk
