Dave Rogers
I was so taken with the "Darby Kelly" song that was drawn to my attention in the thread about Pop/Rock music (re the Status Quo "Burning Bridges" riff) that I had to record it and stick it on SoundLantern: http://www.soundlantern.com/UpdatedSoundPage.do?ToId=21176 There *is* some concertina right at the end (honest). michael sam wild
Nice one! I must say you get stuck in. What gear do you need to put recordings on such sites, I'm totally clueless since my kids left home! Are there other threads you could direct me to. Is Soundlantern better than YouTube etc. Mike
Dave Rogers
Hi Mike All you need is some suitable recording software (I use GarageBand, which comes with Mac computers, but many use Audacity, which is freely downloadable) and a mike. You *can* get away with using your computer's internal mike, but you get better results with a separate one. I use a Samson G-Track USB mike that does away with the need for a separate mixer: http://www.gear4music.com/inventory-detail...Bi0mZL_AyDfv5AR I like SoundLantern as it's quick and easy to upload mp3 files. I don't own a digicam, so YouTube is a non-starter for me. There are online forums dedicated to both GarageBand and Audacity recording, if you encounter any problems. Go on, have a go! Ishtar
I enjoyed that a lot. I learned the tune in a recorder book many, many years ago, but I've never come across it again. Till now. Thank you!
