SusanW
I put myself on the list for one of Wally Carroll's concertinas! About 2 1/2 years wait. Now I just have to get "good enough" to play one ...oh yeah, and save enough $ to pay for it ;-)
Bruce McCaskey
Those lessons must have had an encouraging effect, glad to hear that you are staying with the instrument. Now you need to decide on the size and finish details, but you have time for that.
SusanW
I'm leaning toward the Standard with the adjustable handbars. Definitely not the small.... I have largish hands.
Bruce McCaskey
I can't speak with certainty on this subject but I'm under the impression that the hand bar and button spacing is the same on all the sizes in the Carroll line. Of course there is an adjustable hand bar available on some models. My point is that I think you may find that your hands would fit any of the Carroll sizes. I have two full size Carrolls (one with adjustable handbars) and have tried the middle size (Noel Hill Model) several times, and I know the button and hand bar spacing felt identical to me. I've seen the smallest size Carroll but haven't tried it. I'm confident that Wally Carroll would be quite happy to answer any questions related to the button spacing on his different models. I'm sure that whichever you select, you'll like it.
