Greg Jowaisas Posted May 5, 2015 Share Posted May 5, 2015 (edited) I have two nice Jeffries on consignment. They are completely refurbished, in good tune (A=440) and both are good players. The 28b is in 1/5 comma mean tone tuning (as tuned by Paul Groff) which sweetens the 3rds and chords. I preserved the original 1/4 comma mean tone tuning on the 31b. This tuning is based on perfect 3rds and makes for a very sweet sound. The 28b has more "cut" and would make a good session instrument. IMHO the 31b has decent volume but more of a "pretty" sound.
