MarkvN Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Hi, Jon Boden (Spiers & Boden, Bellowhead) recently started an ambitious project: For a year long, he intends to post a folksong a day on his website http://www.afolksongaday.com/. So far there was little reason to mention it here on C-net, but today's contribution, 'The Hunt is Up', features him with his Maccann Duet, so… have a listen! Mark

michael sam wild Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 (edited) I think it's a nice idea an dthe sngs so far are great. The only reservation I have is that the songs as sung may become a new orthodoxy but that's always been the case in the revival , people go to the records rather than sources unless they have time and access and expertise. It happens with tunes and regional and local variations. Still, I love the way his voice is developing. I wasn't too struck in the early stages but I think he has found his own voice. He and Fay have put a lot into local community music and singing round here. He is a great Maccann duet player Edited July 3, 2010 by michael sam wild
