I found some old recordings of Mrs. Crotty in the Comhaltas archive.
These are the results of several searches. One for Mrs Elizabeth Crotty and another for Mrs Crotty
Try your own searches and see what comes up in the archives.

I would trade you for my stagi but I live in the US!
"I don't plan to live without a concertina" Those are my sentiments exactly, but having only 20 buttons is like only having bread and water.

Alex,
That's great that you can make your own end bolts. Making all the parts yourself is very "one of a kind craftsmanship" . If I had the machinery I would try some of that stuff myself. I've been following the different steps on your blog. I really like what you have done with your reed manufacturing. Definitely a lost art. I sometimes think that if I could travel back in time I would look in on all the concertina factories that I could find and see what happened first hand.

Ed,
I am happy to hear that you finally solved the mystery of the..
RARE Rosalie Dipper Bellows #117 Concertina Squeezebox Accordion Squeeze Box.Just quoting the original ebay listing because the people who sold it didn't spend much time researching this truly rare find.
I wonder if the "small size" was a 5 5/8? I am sure it was a piece of art that you could play!

Kayne,
I also own a South African Wheatstone 30b Anglo. I've had to buy every concertina I own without getting to try it. I bought it from a guy on ebay. He emailed me a couple of sound clips and I bought without the luxury of getting to play it. I also bought a concertina once and then returned it to the buyer. I spent a lot of time going through the process and paid the shipping both ways. Playing the concertina has definitely been an investment of money! Good luck with your search.
Cheers,
Nate

Paul,
Can you post the serial number of your Jones? I just bought a 27 button Jones on ebay a week ago and I am still waiting for it to be delivered. It cleared customs in Chicago and should show up anytime. Thanks,

Here is one that recently sold on Ebay. It originally started out at around 11,500$ and they eventually dropped the price. I think it was sold by a consignment shop so they didn't know anything about it. I would have bought it if I had the money.
Cheers!

Do you play any other instruments? What are your musical interests?
-
Paul,
I sent a message to :
p.kinder@insightbb.com because that's what it says on your avitar. Now your posting a new or correct contact of pkinder72@att.net?? Maybe your just botching this up on purpose because you really want to keep it?

What key is the two row? Do you have any pictures of the reed blocks?

Takayuki YAGIThe link that you posted is a great mix of complete tunes. Many that I haven't heard before or thought of playing on the concertina.
