  1. I could possibly make it. I live in the Texas Panhandle (Amarillo for college to be exact) about 8 hrs. 45 mins. drive from Palestine. I would have to miss two of my classes (Gen. Psychology & Literature), but all I would miss would be reading my books. I would need to ask my parents first though; I've never driven 9 hours by myself before, so one of them might want to come with me (even though I'm 20 years old).

    Here's hoping . . .

  2. I just got my first concertina, and I was playing it this morning and one of my reeds popped out of place and there are 2 or 3 other buttons that are kind of hard to depress. What should I do?

P.S.: The reed that fell out was for the D/E G-row button on the left side of the concertina.

P.S.S.: The instrument was only US$100 on eBay. I guess this is what I get for buying a $100 concertina.

  3. Thanks for the advice. I'll take that into account. I do have another question though. I read some the articles about how to hold, support, etc. the concertina and it sounds like I'm in for a little bit of a challenge. How is easy (or hard) is the concertina to learn? I know it's no cakewalk; I'm taking mandolin lessons right now and it's not that easy. What have I gotten myself in to?

  4. I just ordered my first concertina yesterday of eBay. It's a 30-key Anglo. If I'm just starting is it bad to start with a 30-key? And also, are there any books for the 30-key concertina. I know eBay probably wasn't a good place to get the instrument but it was inexpensive so I said to myself, "If the price is that low, I might as well get it." Did I make a mistake?
