Valmai Goodyear Posted February 12, 2011 Share Posted February 12, 2011 Not only do we have the delightful Playing Rapunzel http://www.playingrapunzel.com/ as our guests at the Lewes Saturday Folk Club this evening, but the excellent English Concertina player Steve Goodyear is joining us. Steve is a past winner of the International Concertina Association's soloist cup and has been the support act for notable performers such as Nancy Kerr and James Fagan. And, yes, he's my brother-in-law. Playing Rapunzel are an energetic folk duo who share, in powerful vocal harmony, songs of story and myth. They sing beautiful, sensitive and funny songs and play a huge range of instruments including guitar, mandola, flutes, keyboards and double bass. Expect some songs in Greek and Yiddish as well as in English.
