treeshark
Hello all, I have read through most of the previous leaks posts and still have some questions if anyone can help. I have a couple of Lachenal anglos one wooden end 32 button new bellows pads etc and one steel ended 38 button less restored, Both about 1920ish. They differ though in that the steel ended one is considerably quieter than the other also the bellows drop is 40 sec on the wooden ended and 10 sec on the steel ended. I assume a leak therefore, but would this also cause the difference in volume? Both are steel reeds and the set of them looks similar. The chamois seals are quite old and made of many bits so I was considering replacing with 2mm foam as a first step. The pads look fine and there are no phantom notes. Another thing I notice is the action is softer with less resistance to pressing a button... so older springs? Thanks Rob
