lesfix Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 In the 1980's Mr Alex Richards of Gulgang, New Soth Wales, was writing a book on concertina history. Does anyone know if this was ever published, or even made available in another format. Les Branchett
Chris Ghent Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 The Reverend Alex Richards (probably Gulgong, New South Wales) died some time ago. There is a Cd of him playing but have not heard of a book or any writing. If anyone would know it would probably be Richard Evans. Chris

David Johnson Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 The good Reverend played English concertina in a very disciplined style that really brought out the potential of the instrument. He undertook to teach a group of players including Peter McLaren, Helen Romeo, Greg Wilson, Richard Evans and Kinglsey Forbes-Smith, and possibly others, in about 1984. He passed away a few years later. I am not aware of a book or intended book but he may have provided some instructional notes. Dave
Alan Day Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I have a double CD of that talk with demonstrations of his playing. Excellent chord playing. In fact I thought he was a Duet player not an English System player..
