LDT
SO far I've had two people ask me if I'm selling my old concertina. Never thought it would be that popular...not after I 'decorated' it.

TonyRussell
This is how the import costs work. Import duty on a musical instrument should be 3% on the purchase price, shown on a declaration chitty stuck by sender onto the package. Sometimes private sellers "forget" to make the declaration, then you need to get an appraisal of value if Customs twig it's chargable. Customs & Excise will charge VAT (currently 15%) on the total of; purchase price + shipping cost + duty. Tony.

Pete Dunk
When I bought a case from Greg Jowaisas a while back I was informed by letter of the payment I had to make, paid with a card via the website and then it was delivered in the normal way, I didn't have to collect it from anywhere. Edited to add a link to pics. Edited August 13, 2009 by tallship

LDT
managed to pay online...not as bad as I was expecting..although £12 for 'special' saturday delivery I thought was a bit sneeky.

Wow, the notion of a saturday delivery is non existant in Canada, at least in Quebec. I'd pay £12 anytime to have an instrument on saturday and to not have to wait until monday!
