LDT Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Concertinas and the weather. For some odd reason every time I play/practice my concertina it rains! Does this happen to you?
SteveS Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 So you're responsible for the weather this summer.... Steve
JimLucas Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Concertinas and the weather. For some odd reason every time I play/practice my concertina it rains! Does this happen to you? It's raining right here, right now, and I'm not playing. Won't be doing that until later in the day.
Chris Drinkwater Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Concertinas and the weather. For some odd reason every time I play/practice my concertina it rains! Does this happen to you? I presume that you are playing indoors, so you aren't exactly getting wet. What about the poor people who busk for a living? Do they need to employ an assistant to hold an umbrella over them, to stop them getting wet? Mind you, in this sort of weather, they'd hardly have much of an audience anyway. The only living things enjoying this sort of weather at the moment, are the plants in my garden and ducks! Chris
Peter Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Of course it does! It's a well known fact that I just made up that Charles Wheatstone was working on a weather machine when he accidentally created the Concertina.
drbones Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Are you sure it's not your family turning the hose on you?
saguaro_squeezer Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Hopefully not commentary on your choice of tunes ....
LDT Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 So you're responsible for the weather this summer.... Steve *shush* don't let everyone know. Of course it does! It's a well known fact that I just made up that Charles Wheatstone was working on a weather machine when he accidentally created the Concertina. Hopefully not commentary on your choice of tunes .... Hmmm....what rain related tunes are there? only ones I can think of is 'the rain it rains' and Lemon Jelly's 'Nice weather for ducks' ("all the ducks are swimming in the water..faldoraldoraldo...")
Azalin Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 There's an irish reel called 'The Moving Cloud', could be related to rain, somehow :-)
Steve the beginner Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Doesn't happen for me. I practice a few hours each day. Hasn't been a drop of rain since the middle of April.
Peter Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Doesn't happen for me.I practice a few hours each day. Hasn't been a drop of rain since the middle of April. You must have yours set to "Reverse"
LDT Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 Concertinas and the weather. For some odd reason every time I play/practice my concertina it rains! Does this happen to you? Only cat tears not raining cats & dogs then?
JimLucas Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 For some odd reason every time I play/practice my concertina it rains! So does it stop raining when you stop playing, or is it just that it rains all the time?
Michael Leitch-Devlin Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Hmmm....what rain related tunes are there?only ones I can think of is 'the rain it rains' and Lemon Jelly's 'Nice weather for ducks' ("all the ducks are swimming in the water..faldoraldoraldo...") How about "Raindrops keep falling on my head"
