Stephen Chambers Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Al, Reminds me of your namesake, Al Bowlly, who recorded "Love is the sweetest thing" in 1932, and of how he sang for a while, early in his London career, with (duet & English concertina player) Ernest Rutterford's dance band, that also included Harry Minting. (It was Harry who told me about it.)
Rod Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 A trial version of " Love is the sweetest thing" played on my CG Jeffries Anglo for a changeI hope you like the arrangement. Al Good stuff Al. The dance-band music of the 20's and 30's provides a wealth of splendid tunes admirably suited to the Anglo. Even the lyrics made sense in those days but I'm not suggesting that you should sing ! Rod
