moonsagotunes Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 (edited) I'm growing tomatoes in these upside-down things and I've been playing music with the speakers blaring out the upstairs windows (neighbors can't hear - it's partly to ward off crows and so on, though I love the crows and feed them on the other side of the house) -- got the English International 3-CD set at The Button Box yesterday. So, I'll let you know how my tomato sandwiches turn out! I also bought John Robert's 'Sea Fever' and Dick Miles' 'Boxing Clever.' The Button Box is slowly but surely helping me build up quite an interesting CD collection, over time. There's a pic of my tomatoes at http://twitpic.com/photos/bellowbelle. somewhere near the top of the files. Edited July 24, 2009 by bellowbelle
Chris Drinkwater Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Your link didn't work for me, Wendy. What variety (ies) are you growing? Experiments playing certain types of music to cows, has shown that cows respond positively by producing more milk. Maybe you'll get more tomatoes! Let us know. Chris

Chris I think it will work now -- had to take out som extra dots that got in the URL somehow. 3 plants, only -- two 'determinates' are 'Bush Goliath' hybrid and 'Better Bush' hybrid. The third (not upside-down) is Indeterminate and is 'Golden Jubilee.' I'm not a huge gardener so far, because The poison ivy around here is terrible. I am itchy as I type...
PeterT Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 3 plants, only 3 plants, 3 CDs in the set. How about one dedicated CD per plant, then we can see which CD produces the best results!

Better let the Noise Abatement Society know what you are doing. I am certainly pleased I have provided something useful. Al

Yep, the link works OK now. Thanks. Thought you were going to say that the two upside down plants are Australian varieties! Chris

Al I've listened lightly so far, and yet need to play the CDs close-up with more focused attention, but I loved what I've heard so far. There's a nice variety and a pleasing flow to the selections. I play English so I bought the English, but when I'm back at The Button Box I think I'd like the Anglo International set as well.
