I already mentioned it on the 'favourite CD' thread, after hinting there are a number of CDs in the pipeline.

Kitty's daughter, Angela Connaughton, has produced a CD to remember Kitty and to once more celebrate her music. The music on the CD was taken from concerts at the Masters of Tradition in Bantry House which took place in August 2007 and the Kitty Hayes Tribute concert in Glór in Ennis in november 2007. Kitty was in flying form on both occasions.

On the CD she is joined by Martin Hayes & Denis Cahill, Dympna O Sullivan and 'the band' which included Eoin ONeill, Josephine Marsh, Mick Kinsella and myself.

The CD will be available from Glór in Ennis (through their website, eventually) and from Custy's in Ennis. All proceeds will go to Seanoiri Laictin Naoifa, the daycare group for senior citizens in Miltown Malbay.

The CD will be launched during the Willie Clancy week.

Tom Carey's CD will be launched on the night of the concertina recital as well by the way (he plays with Josephine and one or two others on it)

Sounds like it's going to be an expensive night... ;)

Anybody else?

Just to remind you the CD is now out there. Joan Hanrahan of Clare FM launched it during the Willie Clancy Summer School Concertina Recital. She spoke nice words about Kitty and her music and Kitty's daughter Angela played a few of Kitty's tunes, with help from Dympna O Sullivan and Josephine Marsh.
