Hi

I was trying to find a ready made case for a baritone concertina (without luck  ) but I did notice the double case pictured by gavdav (i think) and commented on by ptarmigan. I followed up the maker they mention (Swanflight) and discovered, on their website -www.swanflight.com, that they also make 'custom' cases. They have an interesting spreadsheet into which you enter the dimensions you require (I must add here that you only enter the exact dimensions of the item -obviously a concertina in this case - ) and the thickness of protective foam ( I must add that I have never had foam crumble to date in any of my cases  again) you require and their spreadsheet does the rest AND gives you a price (need to add for delivery mine was £10). if you have any queries talk to Sean who is very helpful :D (I'm not on commission by the way :( ) I ordered on Monday 1st June paid for it Tues 2nd June and it was delivered today :D . I must say that I am well impressed by their speed and quality. I believe it would defeat even aircraft baggage handlers

Chris

This is a good service.

Had a look at their site - which laminate did you choose?

<edit> The cases look nice and solid.

i'm a bracket man myself (though i try not to use them). i believe they keep the info very well organized (but part of me thinks that some people dont like them). i find that if i write something so that i dont use brackets--there are many ways--i end up doing some other sort of disruptive/unnecessary thing to enter information that is not (quite) necessary; i also like semicolons.

Hi Chris,

Thought you might be interested in these photos of my Triple Concertina Case.

If you want to see more detail, go straight to my Webshots Album

I find this set up fine for me, as the only time I use this Case is to take them on a short car trip to the Session Pub or a Gig.

If I were going a long distance, I would probably use some Bubble Wrap for added protection.

This case is very sturdy & I reckon my precious cargo is very safe indeed, inside this case.

As Dave Prebble says, these cases are strong enough to sit on, which can be handy.

The only downside I've found, is that you'd need arms like THIS GUY, if you were going to walk around a Folk Festival all weekend or walk any distance with it.

Having said that I'm sure a shoulder strap could easily be fitted.

Cheers

Dick
