Because I only use a mobile connection now, and even though myspace has a great option for mobile, I am much more limited so I deleted my myspace account.

But, just letting my few 'friends' from there know that I haven't forgotten you and I plan to gradually buy more of your CDs. I have bought some concertina CDs at the Button Box when I'm out that way, but it's about 2 hours west of me... so I'll probably go online to get some of the many that I'd like.

When I'm a very old lady maybe I'll have one of my own to offer... if there's anything left of my hands... but, I may just have a few homemade crazy ones (my preference).

We have a ton of CDs around here. I just need to avoid going totally broke.

Hello Wendy,

While I'm not looking to turn this into a mobile device forum, the numbers of us using them are growing so perhaps you'd share with us your perspective on life with the device in terms of accessing forums such as this and any other music related sites that seem friendly to such devices. In particular, do you find it works well for reading the forum messages here?

Have you tried using it to record your concertina playing directly, or does it have such capabilities? I've had success using a Windows mobile operating system based PDA (and a purchased "application") as a recording device at sessions and music classes, and find myself using it more and my other recorders less. The quality isn't as good as other high-end recorders, but it is acceptable and the convenience is considerable. Somewhat related to this, have you tried using your mobile device to listen to the concertina recording samples offered on some websites, and if so, does it offer acceptable utility for such purposes?

Briefly, since I have a tiny qwerty keyboard here....

I just have a prepaid no-contract basic camera phone with a pretty good browser, and nothing you'd want if your serious about recording or dealing with audio files at all.

I only got this because we missed being able to look things up via google and so on, but then other features turned out to be pretty nice. Though I see that on Amazon the reviews aren't great (Motorola Sidekick Slide).

I can't download or play soundfiles. I will have to use my daughter's computer for that, I guess, once a year!

Thanks for the comments.

I suspect more folks are going to go your direction in the next few years, seeking a middle ground between the expense of a computer and home support network (Internet connection and perhaps a wireless router/printer) and pocket-sized mobile freedom. The small size of phone/mobile internet devices limits their potential for rapid data-input (typing) and easy viewing but the ability to be able to readily access forums such as this one is a plus.
