Hi,

I'm looking for the name of a reel. You can hear me and some friends play it at here. (I mess up in the end, that's why I get faded out. And demote myself to playing mandolin) The second tune is Anderson's reel, hence the name of the file. (And lastly we play them both at the same time  )

I love the tune, especially with those chords. We snagged it from an album called "Notes from the heart", which can be found here. If you check it out, it's track number 10. It is listed as Cooley's, but... How many "Cooley's" are there really? Would this be Cooley's Reel #3 or something?

Hi Gusten,

I recall the name of this tune as "Coffey's Reel". Tulla Céili Band plays in their CD "A Celebration of 50 Years", next to the Concertina Reel.

I think it is not uncommon that one tune has several nemes or one name points more than one tune.

Cheers,

Ah, that seems to be it! On thesession.org, it's listed as both Coffey's and Brendan McMahon's, and the transcript looks right (some notes are different, but I'd be surprised otherwise.). Thanks (again) for the help, Taka.

And accodring to thesession.org it is also called "Brendan McMahon's". I don't own any recordings listed there except for Tulla Céili Band so I cannot check by myself though.

I know the tune from the 1st CD by Patrick street called Patrick Street (it is the last tune in the Walter Sammon's grandmother set, 2d track). The name of the tune on that cd is also Brendan McMahon's.
