Paul Read Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Can anybody tellme anythin about my Wheatstone nr 53325? History, anything????????? Have a look here. Not that much info available but this is something. http://www.concertina.net/rg_wheatstone_50.html
ben Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 (edited) Hi, you can check this page on C.net, The only reference to concertinas made with a serial number in that range is that they were made between 1948 to 1950. The pages refering to you concertina's actual date of manufacture and specific details are missing from the Wheatstone Ledgers. Concertinas that were made in the same period of the serial numbers, in my experience, were 30 button Mahagony concertinas with plastic/bone buttons. The reedpan is usually oval with clinched in steel reeds. (It is not the usual oval reedpans used of quality Wheatstones. Some of these concertinas sound nice, play nice, despite being made in Wheatstone's poorer days. Please see my photo of a 53673 series model concertina. Edited December 29, 2008 by Ben Otto
