I suppose this one is a reel, Gerard wants a different tune.

We can hear this reel in the last track of Michael Tubridy's "Eagle's Whistle" CD. He also plays anglo concertina for some tracks but plays flute for this track.

This ashplant reel is one of my favourite tunes :) .

Larryo: From the C.net recorded tunes link page, near the bottom of the page

Best regards,

Gerry, good news to you.

Found :) .

Here http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/1392

The player of above mp3 ( Tom Lawrence in Seattle ) said in his web page that he learned this jig from Kitty Hayes's playing. In her CD "A Touch of Clare", this jig has title "Jackie Daly's".

thesession.org has information about this CD but the tune Jackie Daly's has incorrect link to different tune (reel). But in the comments tab you can find the proper link to this tune under the neme of "Linnane's".

Lovely tune. I would like to learn too.

Cheers,

Yes Gerard. That jig is more commonly known here in Ireland as The Boys Of Tandragee. It is I believe related to some Scottish tune who's name escapes me right now but the title above is the most common name. The link given by Taka is bang on.

Hi all,

Tanderagee is known as a beautiful song to me. We learned it at the Drumshanbo Summer School 2008 in Rosie Stewart's singing class. This is the link to Rosie's gig in the US Congress Library (around 33')

Yes that's it. Thanks to all.

Best wishes to all C.neters in the New Year

hi Gerry and Pete,

there are some little differences between the ABC version and the sung version (which I like more) according to my ear.

The versions in the above links seems to be closer to the song.

Let's try to figure it out...
