:) Thank you.

I've figured out a bit more of the video editing software...it means I don't have to sit awkwardly and balance the laptop precariously to record a close up of the concertina.

I can relax a bit more and sit in a comfortable position which makes it easier to play. And then crop and zoom on the video to make it close up.

Leo...do you have this clip from Utube?

I dont know how to get it to you, but there is a concertina moment around 15 seconds into the clip.

Anyone know the name of the first tune on the video "Celtic Christmas"?

Fjb

According to my friend, Jim Kane, the tune is a set dance, Planxty Davis. Notes on The Session say:

This is one of the dozen or so surviving tunes composed by Thomas Connellan, an Irish harpist, who spent a lot of time in Scotland around the 1600s and named this tune after the battle of Killiecrankie. Brother of William Connellan - between them they composed over 700 tunes, only a handfull survive.

A youtube search will turn up several versions, but I like best the one Leo found.

Cheers,

Molly

And just in case anyone wanted to know, the second tune is "Christmas Day Ida Morning" - a lovely Shetland Tune

You'll have me whistling this, all day, now. A great tune which I had worked up on the Maccann Duet which I sold early last year. First heard it played (and recorded it) at Holmfirth Folk Festival 1985. This might well be the correct tempo, but I used to take it much slower.
