Timbecile Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Hi all! I've lurked here for a while, but now it's time to show my face... A friend of mine bought me a hohner D20 for my birthday, and I've been having a great time learning it....I picked up a few of the recommended books here...so far so good. I have been having a problem that I couldn't find an answer to from searching the site....The Hohner (not my first choice, but since it was a gift,..I ain't gonna complain) has straps that are secured to the wood palm rest via a washer and a little screw. After a couple months of playing, the screw on top of the right strap pops out on occasion. I'd like to secure it better, but I'm not sure the proper way to secure the strap to the instrument. Should I just use a bigger screw, or is there a standard strapping method that I should be using? Thanks! -Tim
Pete Dunk Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Hello Tim, welcome to the forum. If it's an ordinary wood screw a quick fix would be to glue the end of a matchstick into the hole and cut it off flush with a craft knife before refitting the screw. Finding a slightly longer screw of the same diameter would be better than using a larger size if it has to be replaced. Pete.
