Susanne Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Hi there Whew, it's been ages since I was here. I just happened to find a neat anglo concertina for a good price and bought it, since I'm lately been very much into squeeze boxing again after a year of mostly bluegrass mandolin. I have a Rochelle but it has a button that doesn't work and this new one is actually better than the Rochelle. Anyway, the Rochelle came with a tutor book but since we've moved abroad since then, the book is far far away deep down in a storage box. I have no clue what I'm doing on the anglo, more than that I can pick out tunes by ear, but are there layout charts as there are for the English so at least I will know what notes I have to choose from? It's a standard c/g 30 button anglo. Thanks!
PeterT Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 It's a standard c/g 30 button anglo. Is your "new" Anglo the same keyboard layout as the Rochelle? There are two usual layouts, Lachenal (also Wheatstone) and Jeffries. From memory (what I've read on C.net), the Rochelle uses the Lachenal layout and button positioning. Regards, Peter.

Yeah, it seems to be the same.

Someone has drawn a circle around some buttons, would that be if you have a 20 key concertina? I found one anyway for 30 key anglo here: http://www.concertina.info/tina.faq/images/finger3.htm Edited December 15, 2008 by Susanne

I see that you have found the keyboard layout on Chris Timson's site. It shows the differences between the Lachenal (Wheatstone) and Jeffries keyboards. Regards, Peter.
