Since I was able to get dates for nearly all the workshops and staff for quite a few, I revised the Summer School list tonight. Ironically two events I couldn't find dates for were the Southwest Squeeze In (Dan W., are you reading this?), and, unbelievably, the Northeast Squeeze-In (I looked all over the Buttonbox site, really I did!).

Revisions and additions welcome, no promises how fast I'll get them posted, however!

Here ya go, Ken....many thanks. I'll make a more detailed posting on c.net in coming weeks.

Cheers,

Dan

March 26-28, 2009, 5th Annual Southwest Concertina Squeeze-In, at the Palestine Old Time Music Festival, east Texas. This year we feature Bertram Levy, who will give workshops on the concertina in OT music (both for Anglo and for all systems), and will speak on a few things he learned about making music on any free reed instrument whilst studying tango music on the bandoneon in Buenos Aires the past few years. Randall Merris and Dan Worrall will speak on concertina history. Mark Gilston will return with his sterling English accompaniment style. And, as usual, we'll reprise the all-systems concertina band, events for beginners, repair clinic by Harold Herrington, and lots of jams and concerts with all sorts of old time musicians. For more information, look for a post at the c.net Forum in coming weeks, or contact Dan Worrall through the Forum.

OK, I finally had a chance to add dates and check links for the Northeast Squeeze-In, the Southwest Squeeze-In, and the Portsmouth Maritime Festival. Hope to see you at some of these events!

I got all excited about the do in Pompey until I realised you were probably talking about the one several thousand miles away from where I know. Never mind.
