The recent Bert Lloyd celebration has prompted me to listen more carefully to Alf Edwards' style of accompaniment. Are there any existing threads that discuss this in detail, or pehaps people would like to comment anew?

I don't have an English but I think my Crane Duet is pretty versatile, and if I could follow this style to any degree I'd be very satisfied! I'm a life-long devotee of Bert's unaccompanied singing.

Alf was famous for his recordings with Bert Lloyd and Ewan McColl the best known "Shoals of Herring" his style in my opinion was fairly simple for accompaniment unlike his earlier solo pieces which were much more complex. He is featured on English International, but two of his early solo recordings, not really what you are looking for.
