P Carr Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 There's a small size wheatstone aeola english concertina on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=015 or item number 250329177604 if the link doesn't work. Has anyone played one like this? Does it feel different to a "normal" sized treble ec? Or are buttons smaller and the spacing tighter? Just curious... Cheers,
Pete Dunk Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Well, I've played a piccolo Æola and that had standard key spacing. For them to have packed standard treble reeds into there is quite remarkable. Metal ended Æolas are heavy beasts so if you closed your eyes and just played this one it would probably 'feel' quite normal. I'm drooling just looking at it, and here's me skint.
cnrobinson Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I have a Wheatstone piccolo (6-sided, metal ends from 1910). The buttons are the same spacing and size. It just plays an octave higher, so I assume the reeds are smaller, hence the diminutive size!
