Larryo Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Hi, Does anyone have any experience of exchanging the F# and Fnat buttons on the anglo or does anyone know of anyone that has done it? Is it a big job? Were the end results satisfactory? Any and all info welcome. Thanks. Larry

Larry wally carroll has done it. he may chime in. he liked it a lot. i dont know how much of a big deal it is--he is a concertina maker. i may try it out some time, but i have never seen the need to do it, as i already have the pinky strength built up, and i'm used to the shape of the f natural chord. i'm sure the learning curve would be much less for a beginner if they played in the key of d, but much higher if they played in the key of c. the biggest problem is that most concertinas arent set up that way, so you would have to be adept at doing both without thinking about it. another problem i could see is that if you wanted to slide into f# from an f, it may be more difficult to use the weak finger on the weak note (the slide in note). if you try it out, let us know how its goes!
