Pete Dunk
Condition isn't too important but must play well!!! Sorry but that sounds mutually exclusive. A superb instrument in poor condition will play badly, whereas an average instrument in outstanding condition might be acceptable. A model 22 Wheatstone or a (good/decent) Lachenal New Model aren't easy to come by; in fact I would venture to suggest that a 48 key Wheatstone Æola is far more common than a '22'. Lachenal 'New Model' concertinas are (in my experience) lovely concertinas, well worth seeking out. Looking for a tatty treasure at a bargain price? Dream on Simon - ain't we all???? Ptarmigan
hi all, does anyone have or know of a super responsive, positive ,nimble metal ended treble for sale...i.e a raised ended wheatstone(22 ) or a lachenal new model ...Condition isn't too important but must play well!!! thank you simon Well actually, I do have a lovely Wheatstone #22, but I'm afraid I would only ever even consider parting with this beauty, if I could swop it for a wooden ended Wheatstone TT. But good luck anyway in your search Simon. Cheers Dick

Pete Dunk
Would you fancy a metal ended 56 key extended treble Lachenal Edeophone?
Pete Dunk
Then there's John Adey's Lachenal tenor/treble ...
Ptarmigan
Then there's John Adey's Lachenal tenor/treble ... Thanks for the ideas, but I am actually more than delighted with this #22. Dave made a wonderful job of it & it sounds & looks great. So the only reason I'd even consider parting with it, is if I could swop it for a wooden ended TT, even if a little money did have to change hands. But I'll be honest, I'm in no hurry to part with it. Who knows, maybe Mrs Lotto will smile down on me tonight & then I could afford to keep it ... & buy a wooden ended TT! N.B. The extended would certainly NOT be an option for me as it's those extra low notes I'd be looking for, plus that soft wooden ended tone.
